Why we bill per session
Broadband light and fractional laser do not work all at once but over a series. Each session builds on the previous one: pigment is broken down step by step, vessels close one after another, collagen forms over weeks. That is why the honest price is a price per session, and the number of sessions depends on your findings. A flat rate “until the result” would either be unserious or calculated so high that it penalises the cautious. In the consultation we tell you how many sessions we realistically expect, and you decide afresh after each session.
BBL HERO: pigment and vessels
- Pigment treatment — face €440 · neck €350 · décolleté €380 · hands €240 · forearms €350 · legs complete €590
- Vascular treatment, face — fine small veins €290 · pronounced small veins €350
- Cherry angiomas — up to 20 lesions €290 · 21 to 50 lesions €390
- Local treatment of individual spots or small veins — €120 (pigment or vascular) · €200 (both)
The localised treatment is the entry point for anyone bothered by just two or three spots on the temple or a single small vein on the nostril. As soon as the whole face is involved, the full-area programme is worthwhile.
BBL HERO: Forever Young, Forever Clear, SkinTyte
- Forever Young (pigment + redness + skin renewal) — face €450 · face + neck €590 · face + neck + décolleté €720 · hands €270
- Forever Clear (blue light for acne) — cheeks €120 · face €220 · back/shoulders €340
- SkinTyte (infrared, collagen) — face €270 · face + décolleté €470
MOXI and the combination
- MOXI laser skin renewal — face €390 · face + neck €470 · face + neck + décolleté €550
- BBL HERO + MOXI (colour + texture in one appointment) — face €690 · face + neck €820 · face + neck + décolleté €980
- BBL & MOXI consultation — 30 minutes €40
The combination is less expensive than two separate appointments, because preparation, cooling and aftercare are only incurred once. We explain which procedure suits which skin in the article BBL or MOXI? — and specifically for pigment spots on pigment spot removal in Wiesbaden.
The 3-session package: 15% off the series
Because almost all programmes are planned as a series, we offer three sessions of the same programme as a package with a 15% discount. Three Forever Young face sessions thus cost around €1,148 instead of €1,350; three MOXI face sessions around €995 instead of €1,170. The package is not a subscription: it applies to the three sessions, after which you decide freely. If you are unsure, start with a single session; you can still choose the package at the second appointment.
What is included in the price
Behind every session there is more than the moment the handpiece touches the skin. Included are the medical assessment of your skin with classification of the spots, the choice of wavelength, energy and pulse duration for your skin type, the cooling and, for MOXI, the numbing cream, the treatment itself, the written aftercare instructions (see aftercare after BBL and MOXI) and the option of dropping in at short notice if you have questions in the days afterwards. Then there are the costs you do not see: Sciton devices are among the most expensive in their class, their light sources and filters are regularly serviced and replaced, and a device that is not calibrated delivers neither results nor safety.
Warning signs with cheap IPL
IPL treatments are also offered in Wiesbaden and the surrounding area for double-digit amounts, mostly in beauty salons. This is not prohibited as such, but you should know what you are comparing. Look out for the following points:
- Who performs the treatment? Light at this energy can cause burns, blisters and permanent pigment changes. Assessing whether a spot is benign and whether your skin can tolerate the energy is a medical task. A beauty salon is not permitted to make a diagnosis.
- Which device? Inexpensive IPL devices work with broad, unfiltered spectra and low power. They do not reach deeper spots and have to spread the energy across the entire area — which means more sessions and more side effects.
- Is there a skin type assessment? Anyone who treats you without asking about sun exposure, medication and skin type has not understood the risk.
- Is a sun-protection plan provided? Without consistent SPF 50 afterwards, new spots are likely; anyone who keeps quiet about this is selling you the next session at the same time.
- Are results promised? A reputable provider speaks of “can” and “usually” and names the limits.
Two sample calculations
To make the figures tangible, two typical situations from the consultation. First example: a patient in her mid-fifties is bothered by a handful of sun spots on the temples and a small vein on the side of the nose. We plan local treatment of both, €200 per session, and expect one to two sessions — so €200 to €400 in total, plus the consultation fee, which is credited. Second example: a patient in her early forties with sun-damaged skin, blotchy, slightly reddened, with visible pores. Here the combination BBL HERO + MOXI on the face makes sense, €690 per session, planned as two to three sessions. With the 3-session package, she pays around €1,760 for three appointments instead of €2,070. After that, one or two top-ups per year are usually enough. Both examples are a guide, not a commitment; how many sessions you will need depends on the findings and on your goal.
What it means over a year
Light treatments are not a permanent commitment, but anyone who wants to maintain their complexion sensibly plans in years. After a series of three Forever Young sessions in the first year, one or two top-ups are usually enough in subsequent years — that is, €450 to €900 per year for the face. With MOXI it is similar: three to four sessions at the start, then one or two per year. For pigment or vascular treatment there is often no follow-up appointment at all, as long as the sun is avoided; new spots after a summer can be addressed locally from €120. If you compare this with the cost of cosmetic products that promise to tackle pigment and redness, you often end up with similar amounts — with the difference that a light treatment reaches the cause rather than merely covering it up.
For Mainz, Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region
The prices apply regardless of where you come from. From Mainz, you reach Biebricher Allee via the Theodor-Heuss-Brücke in about 15 to 20 minutes; from Frankfurt via the A66 in around 30 minutes, or by S-Bahn and regional express to Wiesbaden main station. Because the treatment generally involves no significant downtime, it fits easily around a working day.
GOÄ, VAT and health insurance
All prices quoted include 19% VAT and are billed according to the German medical fee schedule (Gebührenordnung für Ärzte, GOÄ). You receive an invoice that itemises the work in a transparent way. Aesthetic light treatments are self-pay services; neither statutory nor private insurers cover them. An exception in individual cases may be vascular treatment for pronounced rosacea — clarify this in advance with your private insurer; we are happy to provide the findings.
Consultation first
Before a light treatment is booked, we look at your skin: under magnification, in daylight, with an eye on every single spot. Changed or irregular pigmented moles are referred for dermatological assessment before light comes into play. The 30-minute BBL & MOXI consultation costs €40 and is credited towards a subsequent treatment. All prices at a glance can be found on BBL & MOXI in Wiesbaden; patients from the neighbouring cities can find information on BBL & MOXI for Mainz and BBL & MOXI for Frankfurt.
Frequently asked questions
What does a single pigment spot treatment cost?
Local treatment of individual spots or small veins costs €120 per session, both together €200. As soon as the whole face is treated, the full-area price of €440 applies.
Is the 3-session package worth it?
If you are planning a series programme such as Forever Young or MOXI, usually yes: three sessions cost 15% less than three individual appointments. For individual spots, which are often dealt with after one or two sessions, booking individually makes more sense.
Is the consultation fee credited?
Yes. The BBL & MOXI consultation costs €40 for 30 minutes and is credited against the session price of a subsequent treatment.
Does health insurance pay for light treatments?
For aesthetic purposes, no. For pronounced rosacea with visible vessels, a private insurer may decide differently in individual cases; please clarify this with your insurer in advance.
Why is IPL at a beauty salon so much cheaper?
Because the device, training and responsibility are different. Inexpensive devices work with lower, unfiltered energy, and a salon may neither assess spots nor treat complications. The price reflects that.
