What is Hylase?
Hylase is the trade name for hyaluronidase — an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid. Injected into the treated region, it specifically dissolves hyaluronic filler that has been introduced. In this way, undesired results of a previous filler treatment can be corrected or — in rare, urgent cases — complications resolved. Only hyaluronic acid is treated; other filler materials cannot be dissolved with it.
When is dissolving advisable?
- Too much volume or an unnatural-looking result.
- Irregularities, nodules or asymmetries after an injection.
- Shifted or displaced material, e.g. in the lips or tear trough.
- Medical urgency — in rare cases (e.g. a vascular complication) rapid dissolving is important; please contact us immediately in that case.
How the treatment works
Medical assessment
We examine the situation closely, clarify whether it is hyaluronic acid, and discuss realistic expectations.
Tolerability
As hyaluronidase is an enzyme, we clarify possible intolerances beforehand; if needed, a tolerance test is carried out.
Injection
The enzyme is introduced specifically into the affected site. The breakdown begins quickly; depending on the amount, a second session may be necessary.
Further steps
Once the area has settled, we discuss at leisure whether and how a new, more gentle treatment makes sense.
Price
Dissolving with Hylase starts at €200 and is billed transparently according to the GOÄ. The exact amount depends on the extent and the number of sessions — you receive a clear overview in advance.

Frequently asked questions
Does Hylase dissolve every filler?
No — only fillers based on hyaluronic acid. Other materials (e.g. permanent fillers) cannot be dissolved with it. That is why we first clarify medically what is involved.
How quickly does it work?
The breakdown usually begins within minutes to hours; the final result can be assessed after one to two days. Depending on the amount, a second session may be necessary.
Is dissolving risky?
Hyaluronidase has been in use for a long time. As with any injection, redness, swelling or bruising are possible; allergic reactions occur rarely. For this reason the treatment is carried out exclusively by a doctor and after information.
Can a new treatment be done afterwards?
Yes. As soon as the area has settled — usually after a few days to two weeks — a gentle new build-up is possible if desired.
It's an emergency after an injection — what should I do?
In the case of severe pain, whitening or visual disturbances after a filler treatment, a vascular complication may be present. Seek medical help immediately — rapid dissolving with hyaluronidase is then time-critical.
