What hyaluronic acid fillers can do
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the skin that binds water and provides volume. Injected as a cross-linked filler, it can gently plump up sunken areas, define contours and smooth wrinkles from within. How long does a hyaluronic acid filler last?
Depending on product, area and metabolism, often around nine to eighteen months. Highly mobile zones such as the lips break down filler faster than calmer areas such as the cheeks.
Is the result visible immediately?
Yes, the volume effect is apparent immediately after treatment. The final result is best assessed after one to two weeks, once any swelling has subsided.
What is the difference between Botox and fillers?
Botulinum toxin relaxes muscles and thereby smooths expression lines. Fillers restore volume and shape contours. The two procedures complement each other — which is right for you is determined by the medical analysis.
Can a filler be removed again?
Yes. Hyaluronic acid can be selectively dissolved with the enzyme hyaluronidase — an important safety argument compared with permanent materials.
