From Mainz to Wiesbaden: how to find us
For many people in Mainz, Wiesbaden is closer than some districts on their own side of the Rhine. By car, you drive from Neustadt, Gonsenheim or Mainz-Kastel over the Theodor-Heuss-Brücke or the Schiersteiner Brücke and in around 15 to 20 minutes you reach Biebricher Allee 23. Parking is available in the side streets and in nearby multi-storey car parks. If you prefer the train, take the S8 or a regional train to Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof; from there it is a few minutes by bus or a short walk. From Mainz-Kostheim and Mainz-Amöneburg, which are on the Wiesbaden side of the river anyway, you are with us in a matter of minutes.
Why patients from Mainz cross the Rhine to see us
Light and laser treatments are available in many cities; what brings patients from Mainz to us is usually a combination of three things. First, medical guidance: every treatment begins with a consultation in which we assess skin type, findings and expectations, and in which we also say if a procedure is not suitable or if a pigmented lesion should first be checked by a dermatologist. Second, the technology: BBL HERO and MOXI from Sciton are current systems that work with short treatment times, a cooled handpiece and little downtime. Third, calm: appointments are not handed out by the minute, and aftercare is part of the treatment, not a leaflet on the way out.
Two procedures, briefly explained
BBL HERO — broadband light for colour
Broadband light is tuned via filters so that it is absorbed by the brown pigment in sun and age spots or by the red blood pigment in small veins and couperose. The spots darken and flake off; the vessels fade. With the Forever Young programme, pigment, redness and skin renewal are treated in a single session; Forever Clear uses blue light for acne, SkinTyte infrared for tightening. You will find a detailed description on the page BBL HERO in Wiesbaden.
MOXI — fractional laser for texture
MOXI renews the uppermost layer of skin in a fine grid of microzones without removing skin. Pores appear finer, the surface smoother, the complexion clearer. Recovery time is two to three days with mild redness and a rough skin feel; make-up is usually possible again after one to two days. More under MOXI Laser in Wiesbaden.
The combination
If the skin shows spots, redness and an uneven texture at the same time, we treat both in one appointment: first the light, then the laser. For patients from Mainz this has a practical advantage — one trip across the Rhine instead of two, one recovery period instead of two.
What an appointment looks like for you
Consultation
The BBL & MOXI consultation takes about 30 minutes and costs €40. We assess your skin, recommend a programme and name the price. If you are already certain, you can also book a treatment directly; the medical briefing then takes place on site.
Treatment
Depending on the programme, you will be in the practice for 30 to 60 minutes, including numbing cream and cooling. You do not need anyone to accompany you on the way back to Mainz; the skin is reddened, but you are fully fit to drive.
Aftercare
At home, simple rules apply: cool, use gentle skincare, do not rub, SPF 50 every day. Everything else is covered in our aftercare for BBL and MOXI, and if you have questions you can reach us by phone.
Series
Most programmes are planned as a series of two to four sessions about four weeks apart. We schedule the follow-up appointments so that they fit easily into your everyday life.
Which treatment for which concern?
- Individual sun spots on the hands or temples — local BBL treatment, often a single session.
- Blotchy face with redness — Forever Young as a series of three appointments.
- Red cheeks, small veins on the nose — BBL HERO vascular treatment, one to three sessions.
- Large pores, dull skin — MOXI, three to four sessions.
- Everything together — BBL HERO + MOXI in one appointment, two to three sessions.
- Blemish-prone skin — Forever Clear at short intervals; loss of firmness — SkinTyte.
This overview is an initial orientation, not a recommendation. Whether your spots are suitable for light, whether there is melasma that should be treated differently, and whether skin type and tan are appropriate, we only assess in the consultation. If you would like to compare the procedures in advance, our guide BBL or MOXI offers a detailed comparison.
Season and sun on the Rhine
The sunny months on the Rhine riverbank in Mainz are not the time for light treatments. Broadband light is also absorbed by tanned skin, and freshly lasered skin reacts sensitively to UV. We therefore prefer to treat between October and April, the skin should not be tanned, and in the weeks afterwards sun protection with SPF 50 is essential. Those who start in autumn will have completed the series by spring.
Prices for orientation
All prices are per session, incl. 19% VAT, billed according to the GOÄ. A localised treatment of individual spots or small veins starts at €120. BBL HERO pigment treatment face €440, vascular treatment face €290 or €350, Forever Young face €450, MOXI face €390, BBL HERO + MOXI face €690. With the 3-session package you save 15%. The full price list including neck, décolleté, hands and body areas can be found on the page BBL & MOXI Wiesbaden, and an overview in the guide What do BBL and MOXI cost in Wiesbaden?.
Good to know
As with any light and laser treatment, side effects are possible: temporary redness, swelling, crusting, rarely a temporary shift in pigmentation. We do not treat tanned skin, pregnant women, active skin infections or suspicious pigmented moles, which you should first have checked dermatologically. If you are considering injectable procedures alongside light and laser, you will find the right page under Hyaluronic acid fillers for Mainz.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get to the practice from Mainz?
By car via the Theodor-Heuss-Brücke or the Schiersteiner Brücke in around 15 to 20 minutes to Biebricher Allee 23 in Wiesbaden. By train, take the S8 or a regional train to Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof; from there it is a few minutes by bus or on foot. From Kastel and Kostheim it is only a few minutes by car.
Can I drive back to Mainz myself after the treatment?
Yes. Neither BBL HERO nor MOXI affects your ability to drive. The skin is reddened after the session and feels warm; you do not need to be accompanied. Bring sunglasses in case the sun is shining, and wear the sun protection we apply at the end.
Are BBL HERO and MOXI also available in Mainz?
Light and laser procedures are offered by various practices in the region. For the Sciton systems BBL HERO and MOXI, we are the private medical practice to turn to in Wiesbaden; many patients from Mainz take the short trip across the Rhine for the medical consultation and the option of combining both procedures in one appointment.
What does a treatment cost for patients from Mainz?
Prices are the same for everyone: local treatment from €120, BBL HERO pigment or vascular treatment on the face €290 to €440, Forever Young €450, MOXI €390, the combination €690, each per session incl. 19 % VAT according to the GOÄ fee schedule. The consultation costs €40. With the 3-session package we grant a 15 % discount.
Do I need a consultation first, or can I book directly?
Both are possible. If you are unsure which programme suits you, book the 30-minute BBL & MOXI consultation. If you can name your concern clearly, for instance individual sun spots on the hands, book the treatment directly; the medical consent discussion then takes place immediately before the session, and we adjust the programme if necessary.
How many trips to Wiesbaden do I need to plan for?
For individual spots or small veins, one session is often enough. Forever Young is usually planned as a series of three appointments four weeks apart, MOXI with three to four, the combination with two to three. After that, a refresh once or twice a year is usually sufficient. With a 15 to 20 minute drive, this remains easy to plan.
As with any medical treatment, side effects and risks cannot be ruled out. We inform you about individual risks, possible alternatives and the course you can expect in a personal medical consultation before every treatment.
