What Baby Botox means
The term comes from English and is not a medical term but a description of the technique. The same medication is used as in any wrinkle treatment with botulinum toxin — only in a significantly smaller amount per point, spread across more points instead. Rather than largely immobilising a muscle, its activity is merely dampened — comparable to a dimmer rather than a switch. The result: the forehead still lifts, the frown line can still form, a smile still reaches the eyes — everything just a little softer than before.
“Micro Botox” in the narrower sense refers to a variant in which highly diluted product is placed very superficially into the skin itself to influence pore appearance and skin shine; “Preventive Botox” emphasises the preventive idea. In everyday use, the terms are often used interchangeably. What all three have in common is forgoing maximum effect in favour of a result that is felt rather than seen. It matters to us that you know what you are booking: a deliberately gentle treatment, not a watered-down version for cost reasons. How this differs from a classically dosed treatment is explained on our main page Botox in Wiesbaden.
Who the gentle variant is intended for
- First expression lines that show when you frown or smile but are barely visible at rest, or only as a faint line.
- A wish for subtlety — you want to look rested, but you do not want anyone to suspect a treatment, for instance at work or in front of the camera.
- Very lively facial expressions that you want to keep because they are part of who you are.
- A first, cautious step to find out how the treatment feels before you decide on more.
We deliberately do not give an age recommendation. Whether and when a preventive treatment makes sense does not depend on a number but on your facial expressions, your skin and your concern — we assess this individually and from a medical point of view, and sometimes the honest answer is that there is no reason for it yet. We treat adults only. The preventive idea behind it is nonetheless easy to follow: where a muscle creases less, a line etches itself in more slowly. Read more in our guide to preventive use.
The limits — honestly stated
Less active ingredient means less effect, and that in two respects. First, Baby Botox only smooths what is caused by muscle pull, and only partially — lines that are already etched in and visible at rest become softer, but not smooth. Second, the effect often lasts less long: instead of the usual three to six months, with very low dosing it is often two to four months until facial movement has fully returned. If you want a stable effect that stays consistent for months, you are better served by a classically dosed treatment. And if you also want to improve skin quality, you need a different tool — more on that below. For large muscles such as the masseter, the low dose is unsuitable in any case; different rules apply there, which you can read about under Masseter Botox in Wiesbaden.
How the treatment works
Consultation and analysis of your expressions
We look at which muscles are particularly active in your face and whether a treatment makes sense at all. You receive an honest assessment, even if it is “not yet”. We then discuss benefits, limits and risks.
Fine distribution
Small amounts are distributed across several points with very fine needles, often in the frown lines, forehead and beside the eyes at the same time. The treatment takes a few minutes and requires no anaesthetic.
Daily life straight away
You can carry on with your day straight away. On the day of treatment, please do not rub the area, do not lie flat, and avoid sport, sauna and alcohol — everything else is in our aftercare after botulinum toxin.
Check-up and fine adjustment
After about two weeks we assess together whether the dose is right for you. With the low-dose version in particular, this appointment is valuable: if you would like a little more calm, it can be gently topped up.
Risks and side effects
The low dose does not make the treatment risk-free, but it reduces the likelihood of unwanted effects on neighbouring muscles. Small bruises, redness or a feeling of pressure at the injection sites remain possible, and occasionally a mild headache. Very rarely, even with a small amount, an eyelid or brow may sit temporarily a little lower if the active substance diffuses unfavourably — this resolves as the effect wears off. We cannot treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding, nor in the presence of certain neuromuscular conditions. Everything else, including your personal risks, we discuss with you in the medical consultation.
Baby Botox or skin booster?
Both treatments are requested with the wish for “a little freshness, but please invisible” — and they answer it in very different ways. Baby Botox works on the muscle: it softens the movement that creates the lines. A skin booster works on the skin: non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid brings moisture into the upper layers, the skin looks plumper, and fine crinkle lines and dull patches improve. If you mainly notice expression lines on the forehead, between the brows and around the eyes, muscle relaxation is the right choice; if dry, tired-looking skin is what bothers you, the skin booster is. The two can be combined, and that is often the most sensible answer to the first signs of time. Our page on wrinkle treatment in Wiesbaden gives an overview of all methods; if the horizontal lines of the forehead are your specific concern, you will find the particularities of that zone under treating forehead lines.
Price
The low-dose treatment also starts at €220, including 19% VAT and a check-up appointment, billed according to the German medical fee schedule (GOÄ). Because less product is used but no less medical time is required, the price is not substantially below that of a classic zone — for several zones, the amount depends on scope and quantity. You receive a clear overview in advance.

Frequently asked questions
Is Baby Botox a different medication?
No. It is the same botulinum toxin used in any wrinkle treatment — only in a very low dose and distributed across more points. The term describes the technique, not a separate product. The aim is to soften your expressions, not to switch them off — you keep your expression.
From what age does Baby Botox make sense?
We deliberately do not name an age limit. What matters is whether your first expression lines are showing, whether they bother you and whether a treatment makes sense from a medical point of view. We clarify this individually in the consultation — and we will also tell you if there is no reason for it yet. We only treat adults.
How long does the effect last?
Shorter than with classic dosing: it is often two to four months until facial movement has fully returned. That is the price of subtlety. If you would prefer a longer-lasting, stable effect, the dose can be carefully increased at the next treatment — we discuss this at the check-up appointment.
Can you actually see a difference?
Yes, but a quiet one. The lines when frowning and smiling become softer, and the face looks more relaxed at rest. Others usually only notice that you look rested. If you want a noticeably smoother forehead, a regularly dosed treatment is the better choice.
Does Baby Botox prevent wrinkles from forming?
It can slow their development, because the skin in the treated areas is creased less often. It is not complete protection — sun, genetics and skin quality play just as much of a role. That is why sun protection and good skincare are always part of the picture, regardless of any treatment.
What is the difference from a skin booster?
Baby Botox softens the muscle movement that causes expression lines. A skin booster improves the skin itself: hydration, elasticity, a finer complexion. For the first expression lines, muscle relaxation is the right fit; for tired, dry skin, the skin booster — and often the combination of both is the most sensible answer.
